Option 1: Take off lamp cover and set the switch to "ON" position then replace cover and place on floor or table in an area with direct sunlight.

Option 2:
Step 1: Remove lamp cover and set the switch to "ON" position then replace cover.
Step 2: Remove the base.
Step 3: Pull out the ground spike/tip and insert into the base.
Step 4: Connect the base to the lamp.
Step 5: Insert ground spike/tip into the soil in an area with direct sunlight.

*The light will need about 8 hours to fully charge and can light for 6-8 hours.
